Industrial Plant
Overview
The slag and sludge recycling plant is used to sort the various by-products generated from steel plants into recyclable raw materials. Some products from this process are directly fed into various processes, including sintering and steel making, while others are sold to facilities other than steelworks or used in road making. The rest is then buried. In the past, such by-products were mostly buried without sorting, but resource scarcity and the corresponding high material prices is driving interest in this process to further resource recycling. This long-term trend is likely to lead to further demand in this area. Facilities similar to this include ferruginous mineral recovery facilities and mineral pelletizers.
